The first time you open Kerbside it asks you to choose a four-digit PIN. The app locks again after five minutes in the background and asks for the PIN, or Face ID or fingerprint if you have turned that on in Settings.

There is currently no in-app way to reset a forgotten PIN. Kerbside has no account to verify you against and no master override, so your appraisals cannot be unlocked for you.

If you have a backup file (Settings, then Download a backup file) saved from before you were locked out, delete and reinstall Kerbside, set a new PIN, then use Settings, Restore from a backup file. Without a backup file, reinstalling is the only way back in and it deletes the appraisals on the device. Please back up regularly.

Settings, then Unlock with biometrics. You still keep your PIN as the fallback.

Settings, then Download a backup file, saves every appraisal, note and photo as one file you keep wherever you like. On the new phone open Kerbside, set a PIN, then Settings, Restore from a backup file. Restoring merges the backup in and the newest version of any appraisal wins.

Settings, then Recover an earlier version, keeps up to five recent snapshots, taken no more than once every 90 seconds.

If you reinstalled or changed phone, open the plans screen and tap Restore Purchases. Kerbside checks your Apple ID or Google account for an active plan.

Subscriptions are managed by Apple or Google. iPhone: Settings, your name, Subscriptions, Kerbside. Android: Google Play, Menu, Subscriptions, Kerbside. Full billing terms are in the terms of service.

Yes. Everything is stored on your device, so you can create appraisals, walk through rooms and produce a report with no internet connection. You only need a connection to buy or restore a purchase.
