Guide · Websites: How much does a website cost for a service business in Australia?

What a service-business website really costs in Australia in 2026, what drives the price, what to ask before you sign, and the red flags in agency quotes.

The short answer

For a service business in Australia, a single-page lead site can cost under $1,000, a full multi-page business site commonly lands between about $2,400 and $8,500, and anything quoted well above that should come with a clear reason. The price is driven by page count, how much is custom, who writes the copy and takes the photos, and what is promised after launch.

What actually sets the price

Most of the gap between a cheap quote and an expensive one comes down to five things. Ask about each one in writing so you are comparing like with like.

  • Pages. A one-page lead site and a 12-page site with a page for every service are different jobs.
  • Custom or template. A custom build takes longer than a template, and a template can still be the right call.
  • Words and photos. Real photos of your own work convert better than stock, and someone has to write and shoot them.
  • Local search setup. Titles, schema, a Google Business Profile that matches the site, and pages for the services and areas you actually cover.
  • After launch. Hosting, edits, backups and security either sit inside the price or arrive later as a monthly bill.

Typical price bands

These are the bands we see when owners show us quotes they have collected. They are a guide, not a rate card, and they move with scope.

  • Single-page lead site: from about $1,000. Built to turn a Google search or an ad click into a call or quote request.
  • Full business site with a page per service and local SEO set up: commonly about $2,400 to $8,500 from Perth agencies.
  • Ecommerce or booking-heavy builds: priced by scope, and usually higher.
  • Ongoing care (hosting, edits, backups): commonly a monthly fee, so check whether it is optional.

What Intrlude charges

Our published website prices are The Lead Page from $990 one-off, The Full Site at $2,490 one-off with local SEO built in, and a $79 a month care plan that is included free while we run a client's ads. The quote is fixed up front and nothing is due until you are happy with the live site.

Red flags in a website quote

Walk away or ask hard questions when you see any of these.

  • The agency owns your domain, hosting or ad accounts. You should be the account owner on everything.
  • A lock-in contract for hosting you cannot move.
  • Stock photos instead of your real work, with no plan to shoot it.
  • No mention of mobile speed. Most local-service visitors are on a phone.
  • No way to measure results. A site should count calls, form fills and where they came from.

FAQ

Quick answers.

A tradie can get a single-page lead site from under $1,000, and a fuller site with a page for each service and local search set up commonly costs about $2,400 to $8,500. Pay for real photos of your work and measurable enquiries, not for page count alone.

A cheap site is worth it when it is fast, mobile-first, built on your own domain and tracks enquiries. It is not worth it if it uses stock imagery, locks you into the agency's hosting, or cannot tell you where calls come from.

You need hosting and someone to keep it updated and backed up, but you should be able to see that cost as its own line and move it. Intrlude's care plan is $79 a month, and it is included free for clients on a managed ads plan.
