Guide · Choosing an agency: How to choose a web design or ads agency in Perth: 10 questions to ask

Ten questions that separate a good Perth web design or ads agency from a bad one: ownership, contracts, real case studies, tracking, pricing and how to check each answer.

The short answer

Choose a Perth agency that lets you own your domain, website and ad accounts, shows real client work you can visit, publishes how it prices, tracks results to calls and bookings, and does not lock you into a long contract. Check each claim yourself: look up the business on the ABN Lookup, open the client sites, read the Google reviews, and ask to see inside an ad account.

The ten questions

Ask these in the first call. A good agency answers plainly. A weak one dodges.

  • Who owns the domain, the website, the Meta ad account and the Google Ads account? It should be you.
  • How do you access my ad accounts? The correct answer is shared access you can revoke, not handing over a login.
  • Can I visit three live client sites and talk to one client?
  • What do you publish about pricing, and what is not included?
  • Who actually does the work: in-house, a freelancer, or offshore?
  • What is the contract term and the exit? Month to month is a good sign.
  • How do you measure results: clicks, or calls and booked jobs?
  • Where does my ad spend go: onto my own card in my own account?
  • What happens in the first 14 and 60 days?
  • What do you need from me, and how often will you report?

How to check the answers

Do not take any agency's word, including ours.

  • Search the business name on ABN Lookup (abr.business.gov.au) to confirm it is registered and how long it has existed.
  • Open the live client sites and look at them on a phone. Check speed, clarity and whether they look like the business.
  • Read Google reviews for patterns, not just the star rating, and be wary of any with no detail.
  • Ask for a plain-English proposal. The scope, price, term and ownership terms should all be in writing before you pay.
  • Be careful with 'best agency in Perth' lists. Many are published by the agencies they rank.

How Intrlude answers

We are a Perth-based growth studio that builds the website, shoots the footage, runs the ads and tracks the calls as one system. Our work is live and visible on our work page, we work month to month with no lock-in contract, and ownership terms are written into the proposal, signed by us, before you commit. Ad spend goes on your own card in your own account.

FAQ

Quick answers.

Look for live client sites you can open, clear written pricing and scope, month-to-month terms, and ownership of your domain and accounts. Verify the business on ABN Lookup and read the Google reviews before you book a call.

Yes. You should own the Meta ad account, the pixel and the Google Ads account, and the agency should work inside them through shared access that you can remove at any time. If the agency runs ads from its own account, you can lose your history when you leave.

They are common, but they are not necessary. A month-to-month agreement keeps the agency accountable to results, and you can leave if the work is not paying for itself.
